Every year, the NWT Power Corporation produces an annual report.

Morale. I think maybe I need to order me some of that. I have been feeling a little peckish and out of sorts lately. What with the endless pandemic and all the negative news that’s been going on? Also, by the sounds it, the GNWT should order several truckloads of it. Some for the staff at the hospital, some for the legislative assembly and a whole bunch for the civil servants because one hears a lot of rumors about seasonal discontent.

Two weeks ago, former MLA Kieron Testart wrote an opinion piece for CBC stating that it is time for the territorial government to move past consensus government and into party politics.

The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board (MVEIRB) was established in 1998. Currently there are only three appointed board members representing the three Indigenous governments who have completed land claim settlements which leaves room for much more Indigenous representation at the board level being that the five regions in the NWT have 33 communities comprised of a majority of Indigenous peoples.

On the first day of Christmas, my employer gave to me… five mandatory days off with no pay at the most expensive time of the year. Back in the mid-1990s, led by then-premier Don Moran, this was the GNWT’s plan to save millions of dollars over the holiday season.

Jean and I just got back from Italy. Yes Italy. Jean accepted an award on behalf of the Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation (AIWF) of which she is a board member. And of course, I tagged along … as eye candy. Eschia (take it easy eh!)
