Again, this never happens to me so I’m going to whine about it.

I am thrilled to be working with the West Vancouver Memorial Library as the climate writer in residence for the next few months. I believe that this is the first position of its kind in Canada and I hope that other libraries will follow the lead especially public libraries across the north. It is important that libraries work to showcase the amount of talent there is in the north with both emerging and seasoned writers but also to ensure that the conversation is flowing about global warming.

Every sledder has a story.

Two weeks into 2022 and many will have made New Year’s resolutions. I think the best one is to wake up every morning and think…if this were my last day — which it could be — what would I do?

Over the past 15 years, the Government of Canada has started trying to make up for centuries of destructive policies and behaviour toward Indigenous peoples.

Well, here we are in the year numbered 2022. You could say it as year two thousand and twenty-two or as year twenty twenty-two. Either way it will be an interesting one.

Did you know that drinking alcohol can cause cancer? Say what? You didn’t know that? Don’t feel bad. I didn’t know either when I was drinking, or maybe I just ignored it. Eschia, take it easy, eh!

If Christmas 2021 was different from Christmas 2020, it’s because this year we realized we weren’t all in this together. That was both the heartbreak and the place of deep anger.
