It sometimes seems like we live in an increasingly polarized world.

The Park warden’s voice shifted between frustration and fear when he said strongly, “for the last time, the best thing to do if you are afraid of bears is to leave the campground. This is bear country.”

Jean and I were lucky enough to recently attend a week-long trip to a Délı̨nę traditional area on the northern end of Great Bear Lake, which the people of Délı̨nę wanted to reclaim. To boot it was above the Arctic Circle and it was just before the Fort Good Hope Treaty days celebration. Whew. Eschia, take it easy!

So the city of Glendale, Arizona told the Arizona Coyotes it’s ending the lease between it and the city at the Coyotes’ home arena. Here’s a telling line from the city in a tweet on Aug. 19:

We’re just days away from bells ringing – or buzzers sounding – to mark the beginning of another school year.
