Inuvik’s Mad Trapper pub has once again been listed as an exposure site for Covid-19, on Jan. 21-22 from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Official numbers on the Covid-19 dashboard show a total of 161 cases in the Beaufort Delta as of Jan. 24, with 91 in Inuvik, 43 in Aklavik, 14 in Fort McPherson, four in Sachs Harbour, eight in Tuktoyaktuk and one in Tsiigehtchic. The next official community update will be Wednesday, Jan. 26

A blizzard warning is in effect for Tuktoyaktuk, Paulatuk and Sachs Harbour.

Even with Covid-19 in the air, spirits were still strong as the Town of Invuik forged ahead with its annual Sunrise Festival, albeit with a highly subdued schedule.

Going into the weekend, there are 27 new Covid-19 cases dealt with by public health officials as of the end of Friday.

It’s not just the people of the Beaufort Delta who should be ensuring their vaccinated.
