The National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Membertou, N.S., are over for 2022 and that means Team North’s adventure has come to an end.

You know those types of people who look for something to be remembered for? Those types include record-setters and David Rush is someone who set a new world record for something I would never do. Seriously.

For the first time in three years, the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships returned to the ice and that meant Team North was hard at it once again.

And so ends one of the longest curling seasons in recent memory.

The Racquet Club’s high-performance outfit was back out on the road last weekend and the trip produced something which has perhaps never happened before.

They say defending a title is one of the hardest things to do, no matter the sport.

It’s a good thing the Mother’s Day Run happened in the morning because, well, who would have wanted to run it in the afternoon on Sunday?

There are those times where you can play a nearly-perfect road game and still come out on the losing end.

I promise — no more tales of woe about lottery wins I didn’t get. I’ve got something better to open things up this week.
