The City of Yellowknife will be holding public engagement sessions and a survey to get feedback from residents on the direction of the proposed aquatic centre later this month.
The city issued a news release on Thursday stating that in-person, public meetings will held on Sept. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sept. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Both sessions will take place at the Shorty Brown Arena.
There will also be a third session on Sept. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Somba K'e Civic Plaza.
"Public engagement sessions will explore the project in detail, looking at the need for a new aquatic centre, the pre-design plan, and possibilities available moving forward," states the news release. "Public engagement sessions will take place in accordance with all Public Health Orders issued by the Chief Public Health Officer."
The city will also oversee an aquatic centre survey between Sept. 21 and Oct. 7. Residents will be encouraged to take part to provide their feedback on the project.
Both elements of the project will be complemented by information on the City of Yellowknife web page's Aquatic Centre website.
