Yellowknife man wanted in connection with theft of firearms, ammunition

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 31-year-old Yellowknife man charged in connection with the theft of firearms and ammunition from a city home.

Beau Desire-Tesar faces multiple counts of theft in relation to a break and enter at a Rivett Crescent home over Thanksgiving Weekend. Between the evening of Oct. 7 and the afternoon of Oct. 8, police say multiple firearms, along with ammunition, jewellery and other miscellaneous items, were stolen from the residence.

RCMP believe Desire-Tesar is still in the territory and may be in the Yellowknife area, according to a news release issued Friday.

The suspect is described as is a white, 185 cm tall male with a lanky build, dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Police have not provided an image of the suspect at this time.

He may be in possession of firearms. If seen, members of the public are asked not to approach the suspect.

On Friday, the investigation was ongoing and the stolen property had not yet been accounted for.

Yellowknifer is awaiting further comment from RCMP on the status of the investigation.
