Michelle Larocque, 40, who was reported missing this week has made contact with her family, according to her two sisters via social media.

On Monday, RCMP in Alberta reported that Michelle was missing and sought the public's assistance in locating the woman.

Sisters Nancy and Janice Larocque both announced on their Facebook pages on Tuesday that the woman made contact that evening.

"Michelle has made contact!!!!" Nancy wrote on her Facebook page. "The RCMP is a little slow to the post so we are sharing that she has called both our moms Charlotte and Roxanne myself and Janice. She is safe and well!!! Thank you everyone for your shares, calls and messages during the last couple of days."

Nancy declined being interviewed when contacted through Facebook messenger, but confirmed Michelle was OK.

Family member Janice also made a Facebook post stating that the woman had been found.

"Everyone, Michelle has made contact and is safe," Janice stated. "Thank you from the whole family for your care and concern."

Police confirmed Larocque was safe and sound Wednesday morning.
