The white Ford 150 which slammed into the Sushi Café last weekend was stolen  stated a release from RCMP.

The truck collided with the front of the building in the early morning hours on July 15 in an apparent hit-and-run.

RCMP have not made an arrest in connection to incident.

Claudia Le, the manager of the restaurant believed it may have been a targeted attack. However RCMP spokes person Marie York-Condon stated the investigation does not believe this was an intentional incident.

Due to the accident the café has shut down service temporarily. Yellowknifer attempted to contact one of the cafe's owners, Anita Li at the establishment but received an answering machine which said the company will give the public a three-day notice when it plans to re-open.

"Thank you for your support and sorry for the inconvenience," said Anita, on the machine.

RCMP are continuing to investigate and ask anyone that may have seen the vehicle, described as a white Ford 150 truck, prior to the incident.
