Sheila Bassi-Kellett appears to be coming back as city manager. A special council meeting is scheduled for May 13 to appoint her as such.

It appears Sheila Bassi-Kellett will be returning as the city manager for Yellowknife.

The news comes from a public notice issued by the city on May 9 with a special council meeting being held on May 13 to appoint her to the role.

John Collin, the current city manager, announced last month that he would be stepping down just weeks after taking over for Bassi-Kellett. He succeeded Bassi-Kellett in the role as of April 9 and his last day on the job will be May 13.

It's still not clear why Collin had to step down.

Bassi-Kellett was the previous city manager from 2017 until her retirement last month. She announced her intent to retire in November 2023.
