Registration for city's fall recreation programs to open Friday

The City of Yellowknife announced that it will be opening registration for Fall 2020 recreation programs on Oct. 9 beginning at 9 a.m.

People can register by visiting the city's webpage  or by calling 920-5683 or 669-34557

Registration from residents online will require login to their made accounts and those without accounts are asked to register. Assistance on the website on the website is available for users.

The GNWT has also announced that class sizes have reduced significantly because of capacity restrictions.

"In order to maximize the spaces available for participants, spectators are not permitted at any City programming at this time," states the release.

"Participants must complete the COVID-19 screening form before every class, which is available at www.yellowknife.ca/screening. Participants should arrive dressed for each class no earlier than 10 minutes before the class start time. Specific requirements may apply to certain programs and the City encourages participants to read all the material made available to them when signing up for individual programs."

The city is also requesting that users follow signage that is in place at city facilities that has been posted to sure programs are safe for residents.

"Anyone experiencing fever, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, tiredness, muscle aches, sore throat, runny nose, headache, diarrhea, loss of appetite, loss of taste, or loss of smell should not enter," states the release.
