The source of an Internet service outage that impacted part of the city Tuesday afternoon was undetermined at press time.

Daryl Fetaz, operating superintendent with Northern Utilities Limited said two feeders went down at 1:24 p.m., lasting 14 and 16 minutes, respectively. One feeder serving Niven and the downtown area was restored at 1:38 p.m. The second feeder servicing School Draw, Old Town and Ndilo was re-energized at 1:40 p.m.

“We did not see anything when we went out and looked at it,” Fetaz said, when asked the cause of the outage. “We patrolled the line and didn't see anything that was a public hazard or what could have caused the outage. So we gave the green light to re-energize and everything held. It was an oddball outage and we haven't experienced a situation where we had two feeders going out at the same time.”
