Yellowknife pair charged with murder in Edmonton man's death

Two people from Yellowknife have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 24-year-old Edmonton man.

Winston Derksen, 30, and Deidre Lafferty, 21, were both arrested on March 6, according to a news release issued by Alberta RCMP on Monday.

The pair is charged in connection with the homicide of Faisal Fadul Aden, whose body was located near Red Earth Creek, Alt., on Dec. 4.

Derksen was arrested in Prince George, B.C., while Lafferty was arrested in Yellowknife.

They’ve both been remanded into custody and will appear in an Alberta court at a later date.
