The results are in for the best and brightest holiday light displays in the city.
Yellowknife residents cast a total of 2,094 votes between Dec. 8 and 11, taking to Facebook to "like" their favourite festive decorations in a number of categories, the City stated in a release Wednesday.
The number of votes from residents turned social media judges marked a 40 per cent jump in participation from last year. Winners of the 2017 Holiday Lights Competition, put together by the City and Northland Utilities, will receive a gift from the electricity provider.
The following winners received the most Facebook likes in their respective categories:
- Alternative: 55 Rycon Drive
- Commercial Exterior: Adam Dental Clinic
- Mobile Home Exterior: 81 Hordal Road
- Neighborhood: 15-18 Gitzel Street
- Residential Exterior: 132 Arden Avenue
- Griswold: 133 Gwilliam Crescent
