Yellowknife resident Andrew Rheaume, convicted of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking failed to appear in court Tuesday for sentencing.

Rheaume was arrested in 2018 as part of a yearlong investigation into a Yellowknife cocaine trade named “Project Gloomiest.”

At the time police recovered 1,425 grams of cocaine and two firearms. Fifteen people were charged.

Defence counselor Baljinder Rattan said she had contact with Rheaume until Monday when he stopped answering her calls and messages.
