Mounties rushed to a downtown apartment building June 17, arresting a man who allegedly broke a window.

Half a dozen Yellowknife RCMP officers descended on Franklin House around 2:30 p.m., responding to a report of a break and enter at the 48 Street apartment building.
The man was brought to the ground by officers next to a shattered window.
A neighbour, who called police, told NNSL Media he saw the man kick the window in. Police had to jump over perimeter fencing to reach the suspect. To make their exit with the suspect in handcuffs, they were assisted by the neighbour, using a drill to remove part of the fenced enclosure surrounding the building.
The bloodied man repeatedly told officers that he lived in the building. He later demanded the Mounties’ badge numbers before being treated by paramedics at the scene.
The mid-afternoon incident snarled traffic for about 20 minutes.
Jonathan Sabourin, 25, is charged with mischief under $5,000.
He was later released, but found to be in breach of his release orders and subsequently re-arrested. He now also faces a failure to comply charge.
The charges laid against him have not been proven in court.
