Fort Good Hope RCMP seek witnesses following 'suspicious' fire

Fort Good Hope RCMP is asking for the public's help after a "suspicious" fire engulfed a residence in the community.

Mounties say they responded to a report of a "suspicious fire in an unoccupied residence" at around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 14. Officers arrived at the scene at find the uninhabited home "fully engulfed in flames," according to a news release issued by RCMP last week.

A water truck, already on scene, assisted the local fire department in quelling the fire, state RCMP.

With no witnesses, Mounties are imploring residents with information about the blaze to come forward to police.

RCMP are continuing to investigate the fire alongside the NWT Office of the Fire Marshal.
