Premier McLeod announces new associate deputy minister of infrastructure

Premier Bob McLeod has announced the appointment of Mr. Sandy Kalgutkar to the position of associate deputy minister of Infrastructure.

Kalgutkar will assume his new role on May 13.

He will be leading the development of major infrastructure projects such as the Taltson hydro expansion, Slave Geological Province Corridor and the Mackenzie Valley Highway.

His previous position was deputy secretary of the Financial Management Board where he worked on the Mackenzie Valley Fibre Link project, the Stanton Territorial Renewal Project and the Tłıchǫ All Season Road. He has 29 years of public service experience.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Kalgutkar for many years, both as a member of cabinet and as a senior manager with the GNWT," stated McLeod in an April 18 news release. "He has been instrumental in helping to deliver some of the biggest and most significant infrastructure projects our government has managed and is ideally suited to continuing this work in his new role.”
