UPDATED: Victim of deadly highway accident outside Behchoko identified

A Behchoko man who died following a two-vehicle collision Friday night along Highway 3 has been identified as 39-year-old Bodie James Mantla.

Around 9:45 P.M. on Friday Behchoko RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 3, approximately 40 km south of the community.

Four others were injured in the car accident, according to RCMP.

Marie York-Condon, police spokesperson, confirmed the number of people sent to the hospital on Monday afternoon but stated the RCMP "do not have medical updates" on their condition.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision and an investigation is ongoing as to the contributing factors.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was dispatched to the scene as were Department of Transportation workers to assist with traffic control while the highway was restricted to one lane.
