In an effort to help maintain and improve safety at the Fort Smith airport, the Government of Canada is investing $418,000 in a new industrial snow blower.
The funds, announced July 3, will go towards purchasing a self-propelled model with a 2,500 horse power engine for removing snow from runways.
The funding will come from the Transport Canada's Capital Assistance Program, which has spent $882.7 million for 948 projects at 186 airports across the country.
