A 67-year-old man has been charged after RCMP seized a quantity of homemade alcohol in Fort Resolution.

Fort Resolution RCMP launched an investigation into illegal alcohol manufacture and sale in the community on March 21 after several people said they'd become ill after drinking homemade alcohol.

On March 22, police executed a search warrant at Fort Resolution residence and seized 17 bottles of homemade alcohol, a news release stated Monday.

"The RCMP would also like to remind people that homemade liquor is often of very poor quality and has an unknown alcohol content. It is simply dangerous to consume," the release stated.

The man, who wasn't named by police, has been charged with unlawful manufacture and sale of liquor.
