LETTER: Paper's space misused

From: Marie Adams,

Yellowknife

To the editor:

Re: James O’Connor’s ‘commentary’ about being on the ‘cool’ side in terms of his personal right wing political views ("Speaking truth to power in 2018," June 13).

It is unfortunate that Mr. O’Connor feels so compelled to inform us of his personal political views.

This is a misuse of editorial space. (Facebook might be more appropriate for these type of musings.)

Your readers really don’t want or care to know about these irrelevant personal details.

What they may care about is an objective, well thought out, non-partisan discourse on the current political realities that are shaping our social and economic framework.

I am hopeful that when Mr. O’Connor is over considering himself ‘cool’ over his political views, that he move on to real journalism that has some credibility in terms of opinion and commentary.
