Edmonton man charged after Fort Simpson RCMP seize $18K worth of crack cocaine

An Edmonton man faces a slew of charges after Fort Simpson RCMP say they seized cash and crack cocaine - valued at $18,000 - over the weekend.

On Saturday, March 16, a complaint about "suspicious activity" led Fort Simpson Mounties to a haul of cash and drugs, according to a news release issued Wednesday afternoon.

"During the course" of an investigation triggered by the complaint, RCMP seized 60 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine, packed in three separate bags containing 20 grams each.

Officers also located $805 in cash.

Machot Magok, of Edmonton, is charged with the following offences:

  • Being unlawfully in a dwelling house.
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
  • Possession of property obtained by crime.
