Deline man pleads guilty to manslaughter

A Deline man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of a 65-year old woman in Deline on Dec. 23 of last year. Johnathan Tetso, 32, was originally charged with second degree murder in the death of Irene Tetso, 65. Tetso, has been in custody since his arrest last December.

His plea was entered Monday morning during a brief court appearance in front of Supreme Court judge Louise Charbonneau. Tetso asked to be sentenced in Deline. That sentencing is to be handed down July 4 to 5.The judge also ruled that he may once again have contact with family members. Tetso could not initially have contact after being charged, because they could have been witnesses at his trial.

The relationship between the victim and the accused has never been released by RCMP or revealed in court. But according to a media report, she was his adoptive mother. The cause of death has also not been released.
