A Yellowknife cartoonist has had his recently published book reach number one on Amazon.ca's political humor bestseller's list.John Henderson's You Might Be From the Great White North If ... is a compilation of cartoons that satire life across Canada's three territories. The collection surpassed works such as Charlamagne Tha God's 'Black Privilege and Bill Maher's Does Anybody have a Problem with That to take the number one spot on the list on May 29. Despite grabbing number one, Henderson says that the ranking should be taken with a grain of salt.

"A lot of would be based on velocity of sales," said Henderson.

"Amazon ranks their bestsellers on an hourly basis. Say hour 10 of today, so if 10 people bought my book it
would drive my book back up."

Since getting the top spot, the book has bounced around the list between the top spot and twentieth, but has remained on the bestseller list beside a number of works from across Canada and the United States.

"I think it has a lot to do with people buying the book in bulk," said Henderson.

"People are buying books in packs of five or ten as gifts, I think that's why it's going up and down."

Henderson's book had previously made it to number one on the 'Hot New Releases' list when it first arrived in Amazon's online store.

Henderson was born in Newfoundland but has lived and worked in the North for 14 years and considers himself and entrenched Northerner.

Henderson's work appears in each Yellowknifer and also in the Inuvik Drum and News/North.
