Body of missing Behchoko man found

The body of missing 21-year-old Jermaine Camsell has been found near Behchoko.

After an exhaustive search effort from law enforcement and community volunteers alike, Camsell's body was located and recovered in Marion Lake near Behchoko, states an RCMP news release Thursday.

He was reported missing on July 29. Multiple ground, water and air searches were initiated in the community.

Camsell was found in Marion Lake around 7:30 p.m by Behchoko Search and Rescue Wednesday. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Numerous agencies and volunteers, including Casmell's family, assisted in the search effort.

A post mortem examination of Casmell's body has been ordered by The NWT Coroner Service.

RCMP are continuing to assist the Coroner's Office in the investigation.

"The RCMP would like to thank the volunteers, Behchoko Search and Rescue, GNWT Department of Environment and Natural Resources, forestry crew, Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA), Community Government of Behchoko, Yellowknife Ground Search and Rescue and all agencies that assisted with the search," states the release.
