Behchoko man pleads guilty to cocaine trafficking charge

Jail time for Yellowknife woman who trafficked cocaine

A Behchoko man charged following a federal investigation that netted cash and cocaine pleaded guilty to a drug trafficking-related charge on Monday.

Patrick Adzin, 29, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking in NWT Supreme Court in Yellowknife.

Adzin was one of four people arrested and charged in February of last year after Behchoko RCMP launched a probe into drug trafficking in the community.

Behchoko Mounties, along with members of the NWT RCMP federal investigation unit, executed a search warrant at a residence in the community, seizing cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, cash and drug-trafficking paraphernalia, according to a news release issued by RCMP on Feb. 16, 2018.
