Band managers can now join local government administrators board

NNSL file photo Jean Marie River is one of two communities to benefit from an announcement for funding support over two years to do retrofits to homes to make them more energy efficient.

Band managers can now join the Local Government Administrators of the NWT (LGANT).

At their AGM last fall, LGANT members voted to broaden the membership definition to include them.

One seat on the LGANT board of directors is now reserved for a band manager.

The changes became effective on April 1 of this year. Membership fees range from $300 to $1500 depending on the size of the community local government administrators are from.
