Aklavik man charged in assault that caused life-threatening injury

A 28-year-old Aklavik man has been charged with aggravated assault after a male victim was sent hospital with a life-threatening injury, say RCMP.

On Oct. 6, around 4:40 p.m., police in the community responded to a report of an injured 36-year-old man.

They located the individual, who was medevaced to an Edmonton hospital with a "serious, life-threatening injury," states a news release issued by RCMP on Thursday.

Thomas Gordon, 38 was charged with aggravated assault following an investigation.

Gordon is due in court in Aklavik on Nov. 21.
