Airline assists relief efforts

Canadian North had positioned a Boeing 737-200 Combi aircraft and 12 crew members on the U.S. Virgin Island of Saint Croix in the Caribbean to assist in hurricane relief efforts.

The team planned to spend 10 days in that location, operating charter flights on behalf of the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency and assisting with the urgent movement of passengers and goods between Saint Croix and Saint Thomas, as well as San Juan, Puerto Rico. Canadian North was tentatively scheduled to remain in the Caribbean until Oct. 8.
