The RCMP are investigating a suspicious death that occurred at a residence in Pangnirtung.

The police received a call at 1:09 a.m. on Friday from an individual reporting an incident at a home in the community. When the Mounties arrived at the residence, they found a man inside who had succumbed to his injuries.

The police are treating this as a homicide investigation.

V Division’s Major Crimes and V Division Forensic Identifications Unit are on the ground in the community and continuing the investigation.

The name of the deceased has not been publicly released.

Nunavut RCMP are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information to come forward or call police at 867-979-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Members of the public can also text a tip to Crime Stoppers.
