The Iqaluit RCMP are asking the public to provide information on a suspicious death that occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Mounties responded to man in medical distress in the 4100 block of the city at around 2:30 a.m. The individual was taken to Qikiqtani General Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.
The RCMP have deemed the circumstances surrounding his death as "suspicious," and they are treating this as a homicide investigation.
V Division Major Crimes Unit along with V Division Forensic Identifications Unit are looking into the matter. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have information is asked to contact Police at 867-979-1111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
