Calm Air partnership with Aeroplan continues

Some Aeroplan members may have noticed that Aeroplan points are no longer being accumulated when they purchase flights through Calm Air.

That doesn't mean the partnership between Aeroplan and the airline is ending anytime soon, said Monique Chenier, vice-president of marketing with Calm Air.

Passengers can continue to use Aeroplan points to book travel on Calm Air.

"Calm Air and Aeroplan will continue to have a partnership, just in a slightly different configuration," Chenier stated. "The customers who provided us feedback indicated that it was point redemption that was most important to them, so that's what we’re focusing on. This change also makes the Aeroplan program consistent with the way we participate with the Air Miles program – both are now redemption only."

Although Calm Air has a long-term contract with Aeroplan with options for renewal, the airline is researching its own loyalty program, Chenier acknowledged.

Air Canada announced in May that it was ending its partnership with Aeroplan in 2020 to create an in-house customer loyalty program.
