The Department of Health is recommending that the community boil water for at least one minute when using it for:
• drinking
• preparing infant formulas
• preparing juices and ice cubes
• washing fruits and vegetables
• cooking
• brushing teeth
It's not necessary to boil water used for other purposes.
Water can be boiled either in a pot or kettle on a stove or an electric kettle without an automatic shut-off, according to the Department of Health.
