The Office of the Chief Coroner is investigating the death of a person on a downtown street in Yellowknife.
Police responded to a call regarding a sudden death on 52 Street at approximately 12:55 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, officers discovered a deceased individual at the scene.
The RCMP say the investigation is in its preliminary stages and did not reveal the indentity of the deceased.
“The coroner will determine the manner and cause of death and additional information will have to come from them. There was no obvious trauma that would suggest foul play,” said RCMP spokesperson Matt Halstead.
