Free life jackets available at boat launch

Anyone going out on the water should stop by the Town of Inuvik's life jacket loaner station, which opened for general use on June 17. Life jackets can be borrowed and returned as needed. Federal law requires all passengers on watercraft to wear one and literally 100 per cent of drowning deaths in the Northwest Territories result from not wearing some form of life preserver.
