Officials with the Town of Inuvik are asking anyone at the Inuvik landfill to be on the lookout for a bear cub that was spotted in the area.
A notice was released on June 28.
"We have received reports of an unaccompanied bear cub in the area of the solid waste facility," states the notice. "Please be on high alert and take necessary safety precautions. The landfill operator is working with Environment and Climate Change to ensure everyone’s safety.
"Do not approach, keep your distance. Notify the landfill operator on site at the office, if observed."
