Pool closed for three weeks
The Midnight Sun Recreation Complex swimming pool will be closed for approximately three weeks starting March 27.

The pool has been closed on and off throughout March due to temperature issues caused by a leak in the pool.
According to a Facebook announcement from the Town of Inuvik, repairs to the leak will be made during the closure.
Regular annual maintenance and cleaning will also be completed during the closure instead of in September.
Road to Inuvik Satellite Station named
According to an announcement posted on the Town of Inuvik's Facebook page, the town has received an application from Natural Resources Canada and Environment Canada to officially name the road to the Inuvik Satellite Station Facility and Upper Air Facility "Satellite Road."
Volunteers needed for Aurora GSA pride day
East Three Secondary School's Aurora Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) club needs volunteers for its pride day April 21.
The Aurora GSA aims to provide a safe place for all youth to meet and express themselves.
The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.
It will include a free barbecue and entertainment at East Three Secondary School.
Aurora GSA is looking for volunteers to run the barbecue, set up, clean up, run the sound system, perform music and build floats for the parade.

Warming shelter fundraiser complete
Jen Stronge and Marie-Josee Martel of Inuvik competed in the Arctic Ultra 6633 race earlier this month and simultaneously raised funds for the John Wayne Kiktorak Centre.
The fundraiser wrapped up last week, and Martel presented a cheque for $6,275 to the centre's manager, Joey Amos, at the March Inuvik interagency meeting March 21.
Stronge completed the race and placed fifth. She is the first Canadian woman to finish the ultra-marathon.

GNWT proposes updates to petroleum legislation
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is proposing amendments to the Petroleum Resources Act and the Oil and Gas Operations Act.
According to the GNWT website, the proposed changes are the first step in a long-term review process.
