Inuvik Man wanted in connection to armed robbery, second suspect in custody

Police are asking for public assistance in locating a man wanted in relation to an armed robbery committed Sept. 24.

Inuvik RCMP say they learned two men had fled the scene of the crime upon arriving. Police followed clues back to a nearby hotel room and arrested one of the suspects. However, in spite of an extensive search, RCMP say they have yet to locate the second suspect in the incident.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 26-year-old Robert Vernon Cardinal, of Inuvik. He is charged with forcible confinement, robbery and wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offence.

Timothy Dukeshire faces 10 charges under the criminal code, including robbery with a firearm. He is in custody and will appear in Yellowknife Territorial Court Oct. 5.
