A warrant is out for one man's arrest, Abdi Aydarus Warsame.

Warsame was meant to appear in court in Yellowknife on May 7 for a decision regarding two counts he's facing. Both of them deal with possessing and accessing child pornography.

Eamon O'Keeffe is, or more accurately was, Warsame's lawyer. He said he has no explanation for Warsame's absence in court and was expecting his presence.

Warsame is a resident from British Columbia originally. He was meant to appear in court on Monday, May 13.

But the courtroom was empty that day. O'Keeffe, who appeared in court via a phone call, told chief justice Shannon Smallwood he had tried contacting Warsame via text, phone call and email.

He got no reply. "I have no instruction from Mr. Warsame," said O'Keeffe. He's since withdrawn from Warsame's counsel.
