RCMP members in the NWT participated in Operation Gingerbread throughout December which focused on impaired driving enforcement and check stops.
According to an RCMP news release, more than 1,960 vehicles were stopped at 163 check stops.
As a result, 25 impaired driving charges were laid, 20 three-month suspensions were issued, 47 tickets were handed out, a dozen 24-hour suspensions were issued, and 223 warnings were given to drivers.
