Mike Labine, the organizer of the Santa Sleigh in Fort Smith, is looking for someone to replace him.
In an Oct. 27 posting on Facebook, Labine stated that, after several years of running the Christmastime tradition, he is seeking someone to take it over, and is willing to show a new person what needs to be done.
"I am putting this out early so that we find someone special to carry on this legacy," he said.
This year, Santa Sleigh is scheduled to operate nightly from Dec. 3 to Dec. 23.
It spreads Christmas cheer in Fort Smith with a decorated vehicle featuring lights, seasonal music and a waving Santa Claus.
It was founded in Fort Smith in 1986.
Each Christmas, dozens of people volunteer to play Santa Claus or drive the truck towing the Santa Sleigh.
Healthy Living Fair set for Enterprise

A Healthy Living Fair is set for mid-November in Enterprise.
The event – planned for 3-6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Community Hall – is being presented by the Hamlet of Enterprise.
The Healthy Living Fair will feature booths, a silent auction, dinner and door prizes.
Fabric workshop planned in Smith
Thebacha/Fort Smith
A three-day workshop – entitled On-the-Go Mini Fabric Landscape – will be held in Fort Smith early in November.
The workshop is set to run Nov. 2 to Nov. 4 at the Northern Life Museum.
It is being presented by a group called High TEA, which stands for 'To Enhance the Arts'.
Participants will create their own colourful and unique fabric landscapes using a variety of cotton fabrics, threads and other embellishments.
No sewing machine is necessary, as participants will use basic hand-sewing stitches.
The instructor will be Christine Aubrey.
