The number of people in GNWT-organized self-isolation in Hay River is about the same as in mid-April.

"For self-isolation in Hay River, currently we have 17 people occupying 10 rooms," said Ivan Russell, director of public safety with the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs, speaking on May 6.

Russell noted the numbers fluctuate.

As of April 15, there were 18 people in GNWT-organized self-isolation in Hay River as a preventative measure against the spread of Covid-19.

In all of the NWT, 331 people have stayed at self-isolation centres and moved on after the required 14 days.

Under a public health order, people entering the NWT must self-isolate for two weeks, either in their own homes – except in smaller communities – or in accommodations provided by MACA in Hay River, Yellowknife, Inuvik and Fort Smith.
