Outstanding SAO recognized

Sambaa K’e’s Ruby Jumbo was named 2017’s Outstanding SAO of the Year by the Local Government Administrators of the NWT (LGANT) at the organization’s annual general meeting on Oct. 5 in Yellowknife.

While Jumbo earned this distinction as band manager, she has been working for the Sambaa K’e First Nation in a variety of different positions for 23 years. According to LGANT president Grant Hood, she’s displayed a commitment to improving her community and supporting its members in advancing themselves through education and employment.

Jumbo has also advocated for incorporating traditional practices into the workplace throughout her career.
