Both owners, with the help of Thakkar's brother Pratik, have officially opened the second drive-thru lane at the restaurant, taking out a chunk of the cement footing to make the area more accessible for larger vehicles.

The new ownership group is also thinking of expanding the hours at the Old Airport Road location, allowing coffee-craving customers to get their fill 24/7 .

Sanket and Pratik own 15 Tim Hortons franchises throughout Western Canada, stretching from Calgary to Yellowknife.

The Crooked Whisker Pet Supply store on Old Airport Road will re-open for full service tomorrow after getting a fresh face lift.

The pet store has been closed all week while the owners added new floors and new shelves in the building.

“It was just time to freshen up the place,” said owner Kelly Fahl.

The business has continued to service customers who need pet food, but will re-open their full range of services when they show off the new digs on Saturday.

J-Tech turns wrech for final time

Jason and Erin Smith owners of J-Tech Automotive on Kam Lake Road have decided to close up shop and head out East to Prince Edward Island.

“One small article will not tell the full story,” said Erin last week over the phone. “It is very tough to operate a small business in this city.”

The two have been extremely busy of late preparing for the move out East. Erin added the two are going through a lot of cars per day in order to catch up to orders, citing a lack of help around the shop.

Jason has been working non-stop to complete the jobs, said Erin.
