Depending on the grade and subject area, teachers may be creating their own resources to support curriculum outcomes rather than using textbooks. With the availability of the Internet and today's information changing at such a rapid pace, sometimes the most current information is not found in textbooks. Having said that, I'm sure textbooks are still being used in schools today; it would be best to check with the principal of your children's school.
