I
put a lot of effort into making my daughter's lunch every day but
she often doesn't eat any of it. Should I ask the teacher to make sure
she eats her lunch?
ASK A TEACHER #1 - As you know, it is very important for children to have enough energy during the school day so they can concentrate and participate in their schooling. The effort you are taking to make sure your daughter is well nourished for the day is commendable. Although you have one daughter in that particular teacher’s class, the teacher has a class-full of other’s daughters and sons. Rather than ask your daughter’s teacher to enforce your wishes, perhaps this would be a good opportunity to give your daughter the responsibility of deciding what healthy foods she would like to eat at lunchtime. Including her in the decision-making process may make it more likely that she returns home with an empty lunch kit. Do you have any questions for The Teacher? Email Questions |
